Why did God send Jesus to the Earth?

1) Adam was created in the image of God to live in harmony and enjoy mutual fellowship.   But because he once disobeyed God, we have all inherited Adam's sinful nature.

2) God did not completely abandon us when He sent prophets and the Law to show us what sin is.   But man could not follow the Law by his own strength to have a clear conscience.   That is why God sent Jesus the Messiah for a special mission.   In fact, Jesus was the only prophet who was born of a woman and the Holy Spirit of God.   That is why he was sinless and could redeem us from our sinful nature.

3) Sin separates us from God.   According to the Law that God gave to Moses, only through the shedding of blood is forgiveness of sins achieved. To do this they had to kill animals every year.   But the sacrifices of these animals could not wash the consciences of men.

That is why Jesus had to come and die and shed his blood, as the perfect Lamb, to take away Adam's sin and reconcile us to God.   But since he had no sins, God raised him from the dead on the third day.   And now he is in Heaven at the right hand of God.

4) How can we be saved from sin and reconciled with God?

• We must believe that God sent Jesus to save us from sin through his death and resurrection.

• We must wholeheartedly repent of our sins and follow God's way.

• We must be baptized in water to wash away our sins, and make Jesus the Messiah, who gave his life for us, the Savior and Teacher of our lives.

• We must receive the gift of God's Holy Spirit (God's spiritual presence) in us.   Once we receive this gift, we become a new creation, an adopted child of God with a divine nature.

At that moment, God will help us do good because sin no longer has dominion over us.   We have a new nature, the glorious nature of God, and we want to do what pleases Him.

5) What is God's will for us, his adopted and born again children?

• God wants us to have a daily personal relationship with Him, our Father, and with Jesus, our Lord, praying in the Holy Spirit and meditating on the Holy Word.

• God wants us to proclaim to those interested the Good News about the Kingdom of God and God's wonderful grace of deliverance from the power of sin and reconciliation with Him, by believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus the Messiah.

• God wants us to bless and heal those who need physical and/or spiritual healing, laying on hands and commanding healing to come in the authority of Jesus and the power of God.

6) Jesus lived in holiness by constantly thanking and praying in the Spirit to God;  and also in obedience to do the will of God by receiving and speaking his Word of truth and displaying his miraculous works.

By imitating and following the teachings of Jesus, we will also live in holiness as we are filled with the Holy Spirit and renewed with the Holy Word, and in obedience as we fulfill the Great Commission of bringing many into the Kingdom of God.
