Jesus was manifesting God's indwelling presence in him
When Jesus was on Earth, God the Father was fully dwelling in him from the moment He was immersed in water and received God’s own glorious Spirit. God through his Holy Spirit was dwelling in Jesus with all his power, and this is why Jesus was able to do mighty miracles, wonders and signs from that moment. They were both working together in oneness since that same hour. (Matthew 3:13-17; John 5:19-27; Acts 2:22; 10:37-38)
In order to be full of God's spiritual presence and power, Jesus had to have deep communion time with his Father through praying and listening to his voice on a daily basis. He had to do it to be able to be the powerful, visible image of God the Father! (John chapter 17; Colossians 1:15-20)
Jesus constantly manifested the glory of his Father, which was in him, everywhere He went and at all times. He was speaking the words of truth of his Father with boldness and doing his miraculous works, just out of compassionate love for the people, and out of faith and obedience to the Father. He was so full of God his Father that when his disciples asked him if He could show them where the Father was, He replied, "If you have seen me, you have also seen the Father, because He dwells in me and I in him (through the Holy Spirit)." (Matthew 9:35-38; 14:13-21; 15:29-39; John 14:9-11)
We must manifest Jesus’ indwelling presence in us
After Jesus was resurrected and glorified and went to be with his Father, He sent us the anointing and power of his Holy Spirit which proceeded from God, the same Spirit that Jesus received on Earth from his Father and raised him from the dead. This is precisely what we, born-again Spirit-filled believers, are also called to be: a powerful, visible image of Jesus! For that, we must deeply be connected to the Father by having deep communion time with him, and with Jesus as well, by praying in God's Spirit and meditating on God's Word on a daily basis. (John 4:23-24; 15:1-8; 17:3; Acts 2:32-33; Romans 8:26-27; Galatians 4:4-7; 1 John 1:3; Jude 1:20-21)
Jesus said that whoever believes in him will do the same works that He did. We believers are meant to manifest the glory of Jesus, which is in us, everywhere we go and at all times. To do this, we must be filled with the fruit and gifts of his glorious Spirit and obey his command to speak his words of truth, to show compassionate love, and to perform the same miracles, wonders, and signs that Jesus did on Earth. (John 14:12; Mark 16:15-20; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11)
We should constantly speak with boldness the words of Jesus and do the works He did, so that everyone can easily see him manifested in our lives. God's Word says that if we say that we believe in God we should then live as Jesus lived on Earth. (Acts 4:23-31; 11:19-21; 1 Thessalonians 1:4-10; 1 John 2:3-6)
If we have been crucified and resurrected with Jesus in the water baptism and received God’s Holy Spirit, then God and Jesus dwell in us—God in Jesus and Jesus in him, Jesus in us and we in him. And if Jesus lives in us, we must then live the life of the one who loved us and gave himself for us. And when people ask us to show them where Jesus is, we can then easily answer by saying that "if you have seen me, you have also seen Jesus, because He dwells in me and I in him through God’s Spirit". (John 14:15-24; 17:20-26; Romans 6:1-11; Galatians 2:20; 2 Corinthians 5:14-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8)
Are you full of God's Spirit and God's Word, proclaiming the truth of the Gospel, and shining Jesus' bright Light and manifesting his Love and Power to others everywhere you go and at every opportunity?
